The Sparton Corporation started in Jackson, Michigan, over 100 years ago by Captain Sparks. He was in tune with the auto industry and started manufacturing car horns. In the early 1920’s the Sparton Corporation started making radios, fans, phonographs, and many more items. In the 1950’s, they even made some televisions.
Lloyd's Sparton collection started with auto horns. He then started collecting the radios and other Sparton memorabilia, which are now found throughout the museum.
